HAIKU KOKAPET
Haiku is a Pan-Asian cuisine restaurant that celebrates the diversity of its curated menu through a spatial narrative rooted in traditional Japanese architecture. The design concept is centered around authenticity—both in atmosphere and material expression—bringing together a serene, minimal, and zen-inspired environment that complements the culinary experience.
Drawing from the essence of Japanese design, the space features warm wooden tones, dark reflective surfaces, and finely crafted wooden details across ceilings and furniture, creating a calm yet immersive dining ambiance. The architectural language speaks through steeply sloped roof angles reminiscent of traditional Japanese homes, detailed with handcrafted finishes and natural vegetable-based paints—paying homage to age-old craftsmanship.
The rooftop structure is fabricated to offer sweeping views of the Kokapet skyline, with sunset hues and evening lights enriching the visual experience. Frosted glass panels envelop the rooftop perimeter, allowing diffused natural light to bathe the interiors, enhancing the meditative quality of the space. Interior walls clad in textured dark stone mimic the strength of volcanic rock, while stretch ceilings are designed to resemble natural skylights, creating the illusion of an open, ever-changing sky.
Haiku is not just a restaurant; it is a sensory journey—an interplay of light, form, texture, and tradition that invites diners into a world where architecture and cuisine are in harmonious dialogue.
