SIMPLY SOUTH - KNOWLEDGE CITY
As architects, we have always believed that the essence of any architectural or interior project lies not only in the bricks and mortar but in the soul of its purpose. "Simply South," our latest project in Hyderabad, is a testament to this philosophy, as it beautifully encapsulates the heart and heritage of South Indian culture through its interiors.
At the core of our design ethos for "Simply South" was a deep understanding of what the restaurant serves: the diverse and delectable cuisine of the southern states of India. South Indian food is renowned globally for its flavors and uniqueness.
It was imperative that our concept approach resonated with the same reverence for tradition, authenticity, and creativity that chef-chalapathirao brings to the dining table.
To create an environment that honored the rich history, heritage, and culture of southern India, our team at 4walls design studio delved into a meticulous study of the architectural styles and cultural elements specific to the southern region. One style that particularly stood out was Chettinad architecture, known for its grandeur and intricate craftsmanship. Chettinad architecture, characterized by majestic mansions adorned with detailed wooden carvings and grand courtyards, was the foundation upon which we built the restaurant's design. It effortlessly fused with our vision of blending modern design elements while maintaining the authentic charm of South Indian architecture.
The ambiance we aimed to create is one of warmth, comfort, and cultural richness. Their presence brings an air of regality, embracing diners as they indulge in a gastronomic journey through South India's diverse flavors.
The wooden pillars, another hallmark of Southern architecture, greet patrons as they enter, serving as silent guardians of tradition and culture. The restaurant is also built around a courtyard design, a nod to the ancient homes where families gathered, bonded, and celebrated. This central courtyard, reimagined for the modern-day diner, adds an extra layer of intimacy to the experience in the Knowledge city ,Hyd.
